When it comes to furnishing people's homes it's in the blood for the Böhm family. For they have been selling furniture and antiques in the north west of England since 1947.

After leaving their German homeland the family settled in Manchester and it was soon after they set up their first furniture and antiques store in Moss Lane, a few miles from the city centre.

The company is now in its third generation, with grandson Darren Böhm at the helm as managing director. He recalls his grandfather's stories of the family's passion for selling furniture from when he was just a child.

“He used to say that if someone visited the house and expressed a liking for the table they were sitting at my grandmother would sell it from under them!” he laughs.

Since that time the Böhm empire has grown from their first quaint shop, to sites on Trinity Way and Cheetham Hill Road, through to the two-storey showroom on Bury New Road they occupy today. Customers can browse through their collections of gorgeous contemporary furniture in a warm and relaxing atmosphere, to the sounds of soft jazz and gently running water from their Italian fountain centrepiece. Ambient lighting and delicate neutrals act as an ideal backdrop to view their modern, stylish ranges.
