Akari Lamp/Table Lights "X" Range

In 1951 American/Japanese artist and designer Isamu Noguchi started to design the Akari Light Sculptures, a total of over 100 hand-made Shoji-paper models for table lights, standard lamps or ceiling luminaries. For the name of the lighting series he chose the word “akari” , the Japanese term for brightness, light. These wonderfully delicate creations provide stylistic illumination crossed with traditional and contemporary design styles. There are two selections available in the "X" range, pyramidal or square, in a more traditional style. All the lamps are crafted from traditional Japanese Shoji paper, supported by thin metal legs.
